The reform of child and family welfare (AEF) and the protection of youth (PJ)

One could certainly say that 10.11.20 was a very important and landmark day for child and youth welfare and child protection in Luxembourg. It is the day on which the Ministry of Education Childhood and Youth (Men -ministère de l’Education nationale, de l’enfance et de la Jeunesse) together with the supporting organisation FEDAS and the Association of Social Work ANCES has started a consultation process at the end of which a national framework plan for child and youth welfare, such as a reform of the law AEF (Aide à l’enfance) and the protection of young people, is to be drawn up in November 2021. This process is coordinated by a specially created AEF Social Lab, which can be reached at aefsociallab@men.lu.

 

 

We will accompany the discussions and the process and contribute our positions on the participation of parents and children and their protection. Our work and our national and international experiences in the TransNet SOP are an important background for reflection here.
